Welcome, all, again. I find myself writing this column just a couple of weeks into a new season of anime, so I must decline attempting a premature evaluation of new shows. Meanwhile, three series (in particular) are continuing this season from last, and all seem to be doing so strongly: Your Lie in April, Yona of the Dawn, and Shirobako.

Welcome, all, again. Our subject this time is Shirobako, an anime about making anime. And while that might sound like an invitation to kid-glove treatment of subject matter and blatant self-serving promotion, this show deftly repudiates those concerns. It is both funny and engrossing, but makes me wonder how we get to see any anime at all!

Welcome, all, again. I find myself at something of an awkward time for writing this column: the shows which I've been watching have mostly ended, while the new season's shows have aired only one or two episodes--too few for a legitimate review. And so I've decided to review a fairly recent title which has a second season in production, Non Non Biyori.

Welcome, all, again. This summer has provided many fun and interesting anime series, while also hitting me with some bitter disappointments. Not to name names or anything, but somebody really does need to be punished in the name of the Moon, and punished severely... But I would much rather talk about something that I have enjoyed.
