EagleEyes’ Round Table returns to its regular format this week with questions a plenty. Important topics are discussed this week, with ponies and cupcakes strangely taking the spotlight. I would say that it is random but compared to other weeks…not so much. So join us and see what your fellow 91.8ers have to say. Let’s rock it!

Weekly Award – Week 22:

The Glue Factory Award – – Friendship is Magic?

Sooooooooo, every once in a while two things go together that were never meant to…but they just work! Cookie dough and ice cream, Super Mario and kart racing and most recently a children’s show about ponies and 18 – 25 year old males.

The question is, why does this work? Reliable sources from within the so called “Bronies” have informed me that it is due to the quality animation and presence of an actual plot. Not to mention, a more than capable voice cast. So, it begs the question…why is it so popular outside of its desired target audience? Quite frankly, I have no freaking idea.

The consideration for watching the show has come up, but was quickly quashed for the fear of girl germs and super cooties. I guess in the long run it is just each to their own. I just won’t be jumping on this bandwagon.

Now for the Round Table rules: As usual, each participant is given a series of questions covering various aspects in anime, manga and Japanese culture. Each individual then has to provide their opinion on the said issue. Be warned as answers may contain spoilers. Finally, I sneeze as someone far off says my name.

At the current moment, what is your favorite song from the station? Has it changed recently or been a long time favorite?

• Jessi – I’d have to say Leather pants or Final Fantasy Classic with Lyric, it changed from a Greenday song which is an English Band… Although When I originally listen to LK and Brental Floss I fell in love with them instantly, but not my favorite.
• GrimDefeat – Aghhh so many choices!!! but I would have to say my favorite song as of right now would have to be either black out by Eyeshine it changed to that once Eyeshine was put on the station before then it was evolution of circuitry.
• Shidohari – My favorite song from the station can’t be named because there are so many that I like. Some examples are Stratosphere and Blackout by Eyeshine, Journey through the Decade by Gackt (already a favorite of mine), and DNAngel from Vic’s Revix CD which was also already a favorite of mine.
• ZshadowX – What is my favorite song?…. What is my favorite song?…… song……… ping pong? No no,…sigh, this is a hard question……. Oh I got one, one of my favorite songs will be
  “Tell me Why by the Penpals”, I just burst in tears everytime I hear that song T~T
  Yeah, I don’t like just having one favorite song; I usually change it once in a while, but for now “Tell me why” is my favorite for today. 😀
• Tsundere- My favourite song at the moment on this station is love letter by Gackt. It has changed recently to this due to picking up the album 0079-0088. Which is a cover album on songs from the Universal century from Gundam just as a side point.
• Rhetorical Gamer- So far my favorite song from the station is Stereo Pony- Hitohira No Hanabira something about the song just stays stuck in my head for days!
• Quostin – It is COOL EDITION by Kuwatani Natsuko. The song have been my favorite even before it was on the station. The first time I heard it is when Asakura Ryoko character song came out.

What is your least favorite anime you have watched, and what made it so unenjoyable?

• Jessi – Oh guiddy aunt, I normally consult my friends before watching an anime, to make sure its watchable, but the one I watched, from begging to end including filler… Was Naruto… I couldn’t stop watching it and yet I didn’t like it… Why is that???
• GrimDefeat – My least favorite anime as of right now is probably Naruto a show like that had so much potential but ruined it with so many gosh dang fillers.
• Shidohari – What is your least favorite anime you have watched and what made it so unenjoyable? Naruto because of the repetitiveness of it all. I couldn’t watch it for very long before becoming bored with it.
• ZshadowX – Seikon no Qwaser. I couldn’t enjoy it that much because it just has too much fan service. It felt more like I was watching Hentai >~<
• Tsundere- From what I can remember my least favourite series so far is wolfs rain… I just couldn’t like the characters. It just felt like they did not go past their tropes. I also found it to be quite boring (I know that’s not a good reason) as nothing was happening at any speed.
• Rhetorical Gamer- Thankfully I dont have one……..yet.
• Quostin – Narutaru. The first episode was great and seems like a relaxing show that even children could watch (it was aired on a children station in Japan at the time). After the first episode, it went downhill. It was no where close to being a children show. It had middle schoolers killing several thousands people, had mentions of rape and other bad stuff.

What anime series do you wish would spawn a video game? What sort of game would it be?

• Jessi – Hard Question, I have to think about that… I think… Soul Eater with a MMORPG kind of game. It would be able to be play as a two player too, one meister and one weapon. I think it would be pretty epic. ^.^
• GrimDefeat – A lot of the animes I would like to see video games of already have video games but I just can’t seem to get a hold of them because they are all released in Japan only.
• Shidohari – I think most of the ones I would name probably already have a video game out. I know Magic Knight Rayerth did, and that was a great game. I think Ronin Warriors aka Yoroiden Samurai troopers would make a good game. I would hope it would be a good rpg plotline.
• ZshadowX – Let’s see, Highschool of the dead could be a good one. A hack and slash or a beat em up could really work, something similar like the Dead Rising series. As long they keep it original, fun and fan service but not too much. It would be the best game evar!
• Tsundere- Even though I haven’t watched the series. I would like Macross 7 to be made into a game. As Basara Nekki (The main character) pilots his VF-19 fire Valkyrie with his guitar. So I would like it to be a mix between like ace combat and guitar hero. I would buy it in a heartbeat.
• Rhetorical Gamer- G Gundam but as a Fighter made by Capcom with hyper combos and special moves and every time a match starts instead of the announcer saying “Round 1 Fight” he says “Gundam Fight Ready??? GO!!!!!”
• Quostin – If I had to choose an anime that should have a video game, it would be Angelic Layer. It already have a video game on the GBA in Japan, but I believe it deserves a new generation Video Game, or even a Real Life game. It would probably be a RPG game with Real Life fighting (not turn based).

If you could prevent the death of one character from any series, which character would it be and why?

• Jessi – That’s another hard question, I Don’t think I would to be honest, most characters deaths further the plot, and if they were to stay alive or brought back to life, it would create eons of filler… For example, the Fifth Hokage were to somehow survive, the plot wouldn’t go onto finding Tsunade and so on…
• GrimDefeat – Kimimaro from Naruto only because he was the coolest of all the characters in the show even if he was working for Orochimaru.
• Shidohari – Anubis from Ronin Warriors. He was a very well rounded character but I understand he had to die in the end to free Kayura from possession by Badamon, a servant of Talpa.
• ZshadowX – LELOUCH!!!!!! He’s too young and pretty to die T~T
• Tsundere- Oh this is a hard one. As my choices could possibly ruin the whole series. But I will go for Ushio because… Give him a break his life was getting better and brighter after all the hell he was put through ;_;
• Rhetorical Gamer- *sigh* Maes Hughes from Full Metal Alchemist just because he loves his wife and his daughter so much he SHOULD have a second chance!
• Quostin – Asakura Ryoko from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. She is made of awesome. There isn’t really any other reason not to bring her back…

What was the first anime dvd you ever purchased? Was it a box set or just a few episodes?

• Jessi – It was actually a second hand bargain, the Charity shop sell DVDs 3 for £2, I got hold of Spirited away, Howls moving castle and The Cat returns… I was really happy that day ^.^
• GrimDefeat – I actually haven’t bought any DVDs yet due to no money at all but I did win the 3rd disk of black lagoon at an anime convention a few years back so I guess that counts.
• Shidohari – I believe the first box set I ever had complete back in the day was the First Season Magic Knight Rayerth box set on VHS. I had to sell it because my original vcr broke and I didn’t have money to replace it. It was a sad day.
• ZshadowX – I think it was Alfro Samurai; well it’s the only one that I actually have all the episodes. I usually buy one set of anime DVDs, but I never try buying the complete series. Pretty much, most of my anime collections are not all complete or missing a few episodes.
• Tsundere- The first DVDs I owned was a box set of ghost in the shell stand alone complex 1st gig. And I LOVED it. Quite possibly one of the best shows to have ever come out.
• Rhetorical Gamer- Well the first anime DVD I bought was G Gundam vol 1 it was just a few episodes but well worth it!
• Quostin – Shakugan no Shana, the first season. It was a box set.

Which anime character would taste the best if they were a cupcake?

• Jessi – hrrrm… Bakura… English muffins are the best ^.^ Need I say more?
• GrimDefeat – I could go with something obvious and say Ichigo would taste like strawberries but I’m not gonna instead I’m gonna say Sanji from one piece cus he has culinary food running through his veins.
• Shidohari – Hikaru Shidoh from Magic Knight Rayerth. She’s so full of positive energy and support for and from her friends. How could a cupcake like that taste Bad? Also I think Gatomon from Digimon would taste good as well. but I like that digimon so much, how could I eat her?
• ZshadowX – Happy from Fairy Tail, nom nom nom ^~^
• Tsundere- Probably Mafuyu Shiina from seitokai Ichizon (Which can be watched on Chruncy Roll) as she is so sweet and nice and cute~. Well either her or Elise Toudou from the same series. She’s like her sister but smaller and cuter and a whole lot sweeter.
• Rhetorical Gamer- Hmmm Rei from Evangelion just to see if she would taste like a blue pop tart.
• Quostin – Sakurai Tomoki. He would be a good perverted cupcake.
