Bismarck Kamen is back for more Halloween reviews! I'll be skipping the introductions from here on out on the assumption that you know where you are, who I am, and what you're reading. If for some reason you can't answer one or all of these questions, let me direct you to yesterday's article and we can be on our way. Today I'm going to tackle two films of a classic anime horror title, Vampire Hunter D.

Bismarck Kamen, your favorite man in the owl mask is back, and here to welcome you to a fortnight of fear (minus one), a half-month of horror (almost), and a tetradeca of terror!

Characters Rasetsu is the lead female character. She is very gifted at dispelling spirits, but can’t fight a particular evil spirit who torments her every year on her birthday. Kuryu is also a psychic, though he doesn’t appear to be as helpful as Rasetsu. He is the business-suit-type and the oldest character in the series at 26. His psychic power manifests as Kotodama, which is the power to control things by using words.

I'm not the type of person who has favorites. Most things are different from each other; not strictly better or worse. Oddly enough, I do happen to have a favorite song here on 91.8 The Fan. What song could be so great that it becomes the choral champion of my heart?

Welcome back to the Rafters! Today I'm going to kick off the first round in a tag-team review with my good friend and update schedule neighbor, Bargain Gamer.

Some anime are quite merciless in killing off favorite characters. But it’s rare to deeply explore themes of death in anime: funerals, grave-sites and even the relevance of death deities. What we do see is absolutely bogging to Western audiences.

I recently came to the conclusion that online forums are like RPG dungeons. You gotta fight through the trolls and muck to find treasures of insight. One day I found some guy hawking his book titled King of RPGs. One diplomacy roll later, I found myself 20 copper pieces poorer with said book in my inventory.

What's that I hear? It sounds like another super hero article headed this way. This looks like a job for our friendly neighborhood owl-themed crime fighter, Bismarck Kamen! Today we break away from the usual format of the Owl in the Rafters segment to focus on just one series as opposed to a collection of related titles. I'd like to go over a series that just ended recently, and that I had held particularly high hopes ...

With the recent demise of Borders stores across the nation (world?), the opportunity arose for cheap manga. And where there is cheap manga, there is Tempest nearby. I can smell a manga sale from 34.8 miles away. Despite the sad circumstances, I celebrated by spending way over my budget. And I will spread the wealth by sharing what I bought with you all. In other words, expect reviews in the future.

I feel bad that this has taken me so long to get to, but more than a month ago now I attended Otakon 2011 in Baltimore, Maryland.
