13 Days of Halloween with The Owl in the Rafters: Day 9
We've come quite a ways since this 13 Days of Halloween countdown started, and I'll admit Day 9 has been giving me a whole lot of trouble. I considered using Satoshi Kon's psychological thriller Perfect Blue, but I've sort of covered that before and I wanted something new. I considered another personal favorite, the little known Mononoke, but MollyBibbles covered that once already too.

Manorexic’s Anime Sampler – Blue Exorcist
Halloween, the time of year where everyone gets to dress up and go around asking for candy while completely oblivious to the Coal Tar surrounding them. Now I'm not a demon myself, but I have a feeling that October 31 is one of their favorite days of the year. So in order to get in the Halloween spirit, today we'll take a look at Blue Exorcist, the story of the son of none other than the Demon King himself.

13 Days of Halloween with The Owl in the Rafters: Day 8
Halloween countdown, Day 8: Today I'd like to step away from the monsters and the sci-fi and touch on a more modern take on horror. In the wake of the massively successful SAW film franchise the trend toward psychological thrillers, gruesome ultimatums, ultra-gore, and mind games became a major focus in some rings of the horror fan community.

13 Days of Halloween with The Owl in the Rafters: Day 6
Day 6 and we're finally into the heat of it! In the past decade the zombie trend has really spread like a plague itself, but what many film goers and videogame fans don't realize is that the zombies themselves aren't the element of the trend that makes it so sensational.

13 Days of Halloween with The Owl in the Rafters: Day 5
Today we're going over a shorter film, a 25 minute piece released in 2005 by CoMixWave inc., the small studio that was relatively unknown before they picked up young underdog director, Makoto Shinkai, whom I have covered once already, and recently a second time for the English premiere of his latest film at Otakon 2011.
