Kayarath’s Adventures In Great Music

Posted on Oct 13 2011

I’m not the type of person who has favorites. Most things are different from each other; not strictly better or worse. Oddly enough, I do happen to have a favorite song here on 91.8 The Fan. What song could be so great that it becomes the choral champion of my heart? It’s Every Fight!

This song is musical mirth for my ears, it’s harmonious heaven for my heart, it’s a sunny symphony for my soul! It starts with a slow intro beat then strikes with a youthful declaration of strength and power! The high tempo chorus is bursting with energy and spirit! Every verse of this song is an acoustic achievement that has more sonic bliss then an entire album. Every Fight is more then a mere song! It is an experience!

I’m not the only person who has strong feelings about Every Fight. Cerulaine, Hatch, and Zero Gravity have all been known to play Every Fight during their shows. AnarchoElk will play Every Fight anytime for the low, low cost of elven Elk Points. (If you’re wondering about Elk Points, they are an informal currency that one can use to request songs and other small favors) There are so many people here at 91.8 The Fan who adore Every Fight that we have formed our own group just to show how much we love that song! It is called the Every Fight Appreciation Group and it is seventeen members strong (as of October 2011)!

The CD cover for the best song ever!

This song is so great it has even drawn the attention of none other then Little Kuriboh himself! Yes, Little Kuriboh, the man who has exposed the world to Kroze! He’s also done something called “Yu-Gi-OH!: The Abridged Series” that you may have heard of. Little Kuriboh loves Every Fight so much he requests it every time he appears on the The Fan’s IRC. (If you’re wondering about the IRC, it’s a type of chat room and you can learn more here if you wish to join us.) Frankly, that should be all the proof you need to know how great Every Fight is.

I yearn to learn more about the musical masterpiece known as Every Fight. I scoured the Internet in search of more information. After looking through Wikipedia, Anime News Network, TV Tropes, 91.8 The Fan, and even a random Bleach blog I have learned a great deal.

The purpose of Every Fight is to be the image song for the Bleach character Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck. An image song is a song that focus on and provides more information about a specific character. It is a popular product in Japan due to the fact that many Japanese voice actors can also sing. I assume you know of the Bleach anime/manga? If you don’t, may I suggest reading Bismarck Kamen’s three part series on Bleach?

That's Nel Tu! She's so CUTE!

Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck, also known as Nel Tu or “Nel,” is an Arrancar, a type of powerful Hallow. Nel Tu is fairly unique for having both a child and an adult form (I’m no Bleach expert but there can’t be multiple characters who have that trait, is there?). Having a child form, she naturally acts childish and nice. Honestly, I stopped watching Bleach somewhere during the Bount Arc so my information on her is based purely off of research.

The album for Every Fight is called Bleach Beat Collection 3rd Session: Nel Tu. It is a single obviously focusing on Nel Tu. Besides Every Fight, it also has the song Kokoro Oasis, which is a high beat dance song apparently popular in Japanese karaoke. The third track is a voice message done by Nel Tu.

The person who sing the song is Tomoko Kaneda who utilizes her voice in anime, J-Pop, and radio. She has voiced numerous anime characters, having at least fifty roles credited to her name. She has done Dengaku Man in Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, Chiyo Mihama in Azumanga Daioh, and Fuki in Tenchi Muyo! GXP. She is known for having a cute high pitched voice perfect for playing young children. She brings that same energy of youthfulness into her singing. With such experience, it’s no wonder Every Fight sounds the way it does!

That's Tomoko Kaneda! Her face is as cute as her voice!

Despite that fact that Every Fight has so much going for it, there are people who stand against it! Certain people who actually think that Every Fight is a bad song! They want to suppress it and will do whatever it takes to ensure it is not heard again. I urge everyone not to let their attacks on the sonic splendor that is Every Fight go unnoticed! We must stand up for great music else it becomes extinct!

There is so much you can do for Every Fight! The most important thing you can do is request it! Our DJs regularly take requests from the fans and that is the perfect time to let them know that you want Every Fight! When it plays, be sure you rate it four stars using our cool song rating system. We use that to help figure out what songs people like and want to hear more of! Thirdly, you can join The Every Fight Appreciation Group here on 91.8 The Fan! There we can band together to share our love for our favorite piece of music! You can, of course, buy the single so that you can listen to it when ever you want! However, I have no idea how to go about it. I imagine that it would be quite a fight to find it. Then again, isn’t every fan of Every Fight willing to fight for what they want? Every Fight! Hard Go! Go!

    I hate your life… ._.

As informing as this article is it’s sorta biased. Just sayin’~

if i could just have a non vocal version I could probably stand the song, but most of the vocals make my ears want to bleed.
Interesting article though, but I wonder how many people like it because so many people hate it. Also this: http://918-the-fan.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d3fo9nn

Great, now my eyes are stained just as much as my ears! Great article, but the fact that their is this much pro-Every Fight love makes my eyes bleed. Again, great article Kaya, and I hope to become as great of writer as you are someday.

I feel obligated to thank you for the links back to my Bleach articles, but that does not stop me from hating you for this. I hate you… so very, very much. That is not sarcasm. I actually hate you.

Now I know why Every Fight didn’t bother me as much as it seems to bother others. Its Nel’s character song!?!? Love chibi Nel and big Nel. Her character song is like her healing mucus – maybe its gross but it works.

Surpised you didn’t know that already. o.o

If I can educate just one person about Every Fight, then it was worth drawing the scorn of Kana and Tyto!

Also, I’m very sorry for not including Haku in the list of DJs who will play Every Fight. I really am sorry D:

You also forgot (or just wasn’t there for) Eternal_Scholar calling me out on the IRC in his challenge that if I won he’d play Every Fight per my request some time. Rally to have a weekly Scholar Every Fight Challenge!
