After a bit of an impromptu break, The Owl in the Rafters is back with a convention related update! Anime Central, one of the largest anime conventions in the U.S.'s midwest region was this past end of April weekend so I'd like to go over some brief highlights and address my usual concerns with the state of the convention scene and, to some extent, anime fandom in general.

After complaining so much about recycled plots, I think we should take a deeper look into this phenomenon. After all, anyone who has taken a high school English class should know that every type of story, and thereby every type of character, has already been used.
