This was a long time coming. I haven't heard any of their stuff they've done since the loss of hide, so I'm a tad sceptical about how they'll sound now. Time will tell I guess.

I'm actually more concerned with the influence of the company on the quality of their music. If US record labels know how to do anything, it's how to ruin someone's sound/career...

Couldn't agree with you guys more . I am concerned about this fact, however they are sounding a par below without hide, and what foolish aspects the American company will do to this japanese monumental band.

Re: X Japan Signs With EMI Music North America
Good point. I figure they'll be told to make a relatively safe album. Which'll probably contain traces of what they were before, but rather mainstream. If the album does well, they'll probably stick with the mainstream formula. Seems to be how it goes, but it's all just speculation at this point.

well they were on the saw 4 soundtrack:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0-Q25w9si0 I think its a pretty good video, I was at the bottom of the building when they filmed it in Hollywood with a huge crowd of people, they even show Hide's guitar as tribute. I'm actually looking forward to it yoshiki got some attention with nbc los angeles: http://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local/118253544.html donating his crystal piano, and got some pr for X Japan in LA nice X JAPAN Announces European Concert Dates Plus Slot at "Summer Sonic" Festival http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/pres...sonic-festival so that's their dates for summer, so i'm going to make the guess fall and winter will be for US dates.
