Dear Brother... Episode 004 Discussion
Dear god, this show is fantastic! The fact that so many people are willing to stand up for Nanako makes my frickin' day.
Kaoru manhandling those bullies and Mariko throwing flour (or sugar) onto them. So good, so much justice. It's just amazing. I'm pretty much floored any time there's a character that steps out of the stereotype. It makes it hard to predict where the series will go next. Ah, I was kinda worried Mariko is the jealous type, but to be honest Tomako hasn't been my favorite character. She's had very erratic mood swings, which makes me think her personality might be a bit selfish and destructive. It's a little difficult for me to feel sympathy for her. Equally, it's really hard for me to feel like Mariko is horrible because she's done some amazing things to stand up for Nanako. I can't help but feel that music box must mean a lot for Nanako. This random guy she's roped into being her brother (but obviously not super random cause he has to have a connection with her dad) doesn't reply to her letters. This is technically his first reply. Jeez, this show. I can't wait for the next episode. |

This series just has such a great way of telling you what's coming up next, but then still ratcheting up the tension. It makes no sense, but it just continues to have me on the edge of my seat. The manhandling scene was by far my favorite, though calling the ♫♫♫♫♫ group dregs an the flour scene were a close second. Also, the cooking club was hilarious. It's good to know the big 3 aren't perfect (besides the pill popping collapsing and other issues they have dramatically)
