Para-Para and you (Or me)
Anyone here know about the para-para dance moves that go with Eurobeat and many other styles of rave (Eurobeat is the kind of music played during the initial D anime) I'm not MEGA GOOD or anything. but i love just doing some freestyle para-para in my room when it's on.
Weight Loss ftw! Anyone here know of it or even do it?

Re: Para-Para and you (Or me)
I use to Para Para when I worked at a Maid Cafe. It's a lot of fun, but sometimes its really taxing. It certainly is a good workout though. The best place to find Para Para moves is really YouTube. There's a lot of instructional videos. Most of the Evangelion Yoko Ishida remixes are good examples.

When i'm raving i normaly just do the "Brooklyn Stomp" Style of Dancing. But yea i do it as a workout. But i just tell everyone "I have been...err... walking... lots." It usually tricks them.

Re: Para-Para and you (Or me)
I still don't exactly get what Para Para is? Is it kinda like...half dancing?
That's what Youtube seems to show me. Females doing minute dance moves on the spot that are repeated every so often.

People who do it on youtube. don't really do it properly. Para-PAra is more like the HAre Hare Yukai with it's energy.

Re: Para-Para and you (Or me)
The basic explanation is its a two step foot movement with added hand-movements. That's about as basic as you're gonna get; however, those who do so professionally usually add a lot more to it.

Re: Para-Para and you (Or me)
Aww man, ParaPara. I remember my first Anime Expo (2002) was when Geneon first started introducing a lot of fans to ParaPara dancing. They even had a Yoko Ishida live concert that was totally awesome!

Re: Para-Para and you (Or me)
I was reading this thread in the same boat Elk was originally in, and then I read Kana's explanation which made me think how damn ridiculous this is going to be.. but it's actually pretty damn cool stuff.
I was never a big fan of dancing in general, but this Para Para stuff is so damn catchy and smooth. That's really neat. Can't say I'll be jumping up to do the Para Para anytime soon, but it is almost tempting. This is the first video I watched which was pretty neat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0iIwJdQDcSA But I've watched a few and it's catchy stuff.

Re: Para-Para and you (Or me)
I remember Para para dance being a dance that started out in the 60's. It was an underground dance in Japan for a while. Dance clubs in Japan are currently up and running. I remember doing dances back in 2000, the way to play the game was importing a PS2 with the bright pink sensor controllers. The arcades only released 2 versions 1st mix and 2nd mix. The albums of the Eurobeat series span over 200 albums. People are still doing para para because the club dances teaches the newer songs. I know fans that still do the dance and there were videos of the para para allstars that taught the dances as well.

Re: Para-Para and you (Or me)
Okay, I have seen this before. I remember some girls did a routine similar to these Para Para Videos.
It really is cute when a girl does it. I think it would have to be a pretty hardcore beat at a club for a guy to get away with it. Maybe do it to the song Moar Ghosts n Whatever Even if it wasn't super hardcore, I'd give it a try :P |

^^ Yep yep~
That's from iDOLM@STER. <3 It's a Para Para-like game where you chose an idol and teach them to sing and dance. The song is "Agent Yoru Wo Yuku" |
