Anime that had satisfying endings (no table flip button activated!)

So, in contrast to the Anime - table flip - ending thread, this one is for all the good feels when a series comes to an end.

Many come to mind, but one tops my list and has for many years.

Cowboy Bebop ended about as perfectly as a series like that could imo. It left some questions to be interpreted. Was Spike really dead? Was it all a dream? The dimming star at the end credits, etc.

The drama between Spike and Julia, Spike and Vicious, Spike and life itself, were compelling backdrops to the other story lines in the series. The way it all tied together in the last two episodes was incredible. Gripping anxiety up to the last shots and then segued into oblivion with the end credits (Blue sung by Mai Yamane has to be one of the best end series songs I've ever heard to this day...still gives me chills and brings on the waterworks! XD)

Anyway, what are some of yours?

Baccano and Gurren Lagann come to mind. Although I was speechless the first time I finished it ,and even the second and third time watching the latter, because it seems that the relationship of Simone and Nia was all for nothing. Although, what transpires after that ends the series on a good note, imo.

I felt Gungrave had one of the most satisfying endings I've ever seen in anime, the only thing that comes close for me isTrigun.

I'd also like to add that Gurren Lagann and Clannad endings for me were somewhat unsatisfying because of the whole Deus Ex Machina cop-out. Gurren Lagann I can kinda forgive since the whole show is based around it, but Clannad was just meh (still cried alittle though).

Zero Gravity will become famous soon enough
Re: Anime that had satisfying endings (no table flip button activated!)

Honestly? School Days.
It's a very M-rated anime based off an H-Game with more bad endings than you can count. Of course I didn't know this prior to watching the series (12 episodes). It had a simple concept at first, then it got complicated, then it just.... it went somewhere else.
Imagine an evil version of "Clannad" if you will.

Eventually the writers of the show understood that by the end I was fustrated because I wanted the main character to die a painful death and the original girlfriend to get revenge. So in a craze the 2nd ex girlfriend murders the main character in cold blood and rather gruesomely, then the 1st girlfriend in yandere fashion, kills the ex.... the rest is.... somewhat creepy, but I felt like the writers where like "yeah... we're ticking you off.... GOING ALL OUT"

I'll agree with Moon that Gosick's ending was very satisfying. Very rarely do I find quick series where I feel like the ended well, but Kiba is one that definitely fits the bill
