Summer 2011

Anyone watching anything? I thought it seemed kind of dry at first but there's a few interesting shows. So far Kamisama no Memochou, and Kamisama Dolls are the only one that I really like. Despite the similar titles they actually are vastly different shows.

Re: Summer 2011

Our department has lost a lot of manpower (the state is practically bankrupt), so I haven't been able to really devote myself to any new shows because of my changing schedule. Instead, I'm revisiting old favorites as able.

Re: Summer 2011

After viewing a list of the Summer 2011 anime, I have come to a conclusion: It's a mixed bag that contains more on two things more than the rest. It is heavy on comedy, same for drama and a bit on sci-fi, but I tend to watch some action anime and I see the lack of it in their description. I will try and watch "Sacred Seven" because it seems that it has action in it. There isn't anything else that catches my eye as need to watch or after someone reviews it to see what it is exactly.

There's the Blade anime, as in those Wesley Snipes vampire hunter movies that a lot of people didn't know were actually based on Marvel comic books.

Blood C is pretty action heavy too, though I've only skimmed it. I was a pretty big fan of Blood+ but it seems like CLAMP is doing a completely separate take on the material.

But yeah, there's nothing that's really along the lines of a solid battle anime other than Sacred Seven.

They're adapting "The Origin" into an anime? That's a really ridiculous concept. It's like if someone novelized the Harry Potter movies or something.

Well, it's SUPPOSED to be how the 1979 anime was supposed to turn out (aka, the ORIGINAL script without the demanded changes and cut plot points) plus new animation.
I'm looking forward to it

IMO, stuff that can show up "As Intended" is usually above and beyond whatever the original appearance was.

Why? Because it's more fun.

I'm keeping up with Ro-Kyu-Bu!, Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu Ni!, Sacred Seven, and Itsuka Tenma no Kuro Usagi.

Re: Summer 2011

I was watching Usagi Drop, then I read the manga and saw how it turned out, and then I stopped watching the anime... I'm not gonna spoil anything, but it was highly disappointing.

Re: Summer 2011

Sacred Seven was pretty good, except the finale was so cliched.
