OK, I gave the new Avatar series, The Legend of Korra, another chance last night. It does manage to get better after a very awkward first episode, although better is a relatively easy accomplishment given how badly it began. Here's to hoping. . .

I just finished xxxHolic, thanks to Netflix for having so many obscure yet awesome selections in their anime catalog. Though it drives me crazy that they don't have complete series for many of them. Seems silly to put up one season and not the rest! XD
Many people didn't like the animation done by Clamp, saying it looked cheap or like they took shortcuts to save money. I actually liked it. The lighting and the dull hues they used made it seem like I was watching moving art more than anime at times.
I really enjoyed the parable/proverb types of episodes. Though the ending left me very unsatisfied. It felt way too rushed and awkward in the final two episodes. A shame too, cuz the rest of the episodes were pretty good.
Definitely gonna go buy the Blu-ray/DVD to add to my collection.

For the record, I like to watch titles that I've grown up with as a kid, such as Sailor Moon (my top-favorite), Dragon Ball Z, Pokemon...you know, all that stuff we liked when we were kids. Even if some of them (like Sailor Moon) had a lot of crazy edits and stuff, that doesn't deter me from reliving my childhood.
Although, recently, I'm trying out some other popular shows like Ranma ½.

Well to change things up...sorta, I am re-watching Code Geass. I had started collecting the box sets of season 1 awhile back, but never completed the sets for either season. Thankfully, Bandai released Anime Legends versions of both seasons which I ended up buying from Amazon. I can't believe how much of the story I've forgotten over the years! And the second opening theme, Kaidoku Funou by Jinn...I almost forgot how awesome that song was! Ah nostalgia! XD

LUCKY! I could never find the limited edition sets. Always WAY too expensive, or ended up being the regular versions *shrug*
Started S2 of Code Geass re-watch. OMG I want to punch Lelouch's father: The Emperor. I forgot how MUCH manipulation went on in this series (not just by Lelouch's power). Every one of that bastard Emperor's kids were messed up by his own self-serving goals. I remember why this series appealed to me so much...more stories that hit close to home! =)

I recently acquired Lucky Star on DVD and am really enjoying its randomness. It's a nice change up from the serious anime I've been watching lately! Konata is hilarious and adorable with her quirkiness. I love the Lucky Channel segment (Akira's split personality reminds me of Haruko from FLCL! XD).
I also acquired Neon Genesis Evangelion Platinum Collection on DVD. I never finished watching it waaaay back when it first premiered on the old Toonami. From what I'm hearing/reading it's a good thing I never saw the "movies" after the anime was "completed". I'll probably start watching it in between Lucky Star and Excel Saga =)

Ohhh, Little Busters is great! Don't know what I'm going to do after the last episode this week!
And I've started S1 of Chihayafuru...really enjoying it! Did not think I would get into an anime about karuta...but they've done such a great job of mixing in slice of life, comedy and other elements that the karuta play itself becomes compelling to watch! (~_~)
As for what I've been watching...my Crunchyroll queue is on fire! LOL
Currently watching (in addition to the above):
Shin Koihime Musou (completed)
Love Live School Idol Project (just finished it actually)
Kimi ni Todoke (completed)
Hunter x Hunter (yeah, yeah, Christmas, I'm still working on it! Got sidetracked watching anything voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro! XD)
