Welcome, all. I just wanted to inform you about a project that an acquaintance clued me in about: CEMACEMAS. Based upon folklore from indigenous Taiwanese peoples, this story follows a young girl's efforts to appease her people's gods and secure their help against famine and invasion. Of course, it can't help her cause that the gods themselves sent the famine in punishment for the loss of a sacred gift. . .the artwork of this piece is gorgeously stylized, and this is a rare opportunity to learn more about an indigenous culture that has been largely forgotten (sort of like we got with the Ainu in Golden Kamuy).
