IRC Conectivity
I dunno' about you guys but me and Shidohari have not been able to get on the IRC , The page loads and we see the box for the forums... Then after a looong wait we get
The connection has timed out The server at qchat.rizon.net is taking too long to respond. I'm not sure whether its just us and we need to connect to the IRC another way, but I wish I could know... I miss you guys!!! |
Re: IRC Conectivity
i second that. I miss everyone too.

Re: IRC Conectivity
You could always look into finding an IRC client such as mIRC and configure it to the 918 IRC.
But don't forget to check this first: http://918thefan.com/irc-chat/irc-faq/ It's the 918 IRC faq, if you haven't already checked there I hope you figure out what the connectivity problems are. |
Re: IRC Conectivity
Big problem with me on that... I can't download it. >.>'

Re: IRC Conectivity
That's sort of weird, I'm not have a problem with connectivity. Honestly if the online one isn't working you should go with a client as you'll experience less drops.

Re: IRC Conectivity
Would really love to, Kana. I can't download nothing! I got lucky with DFO. However, my brother made such a big deal about it, I can't download anything anymore.

If you can't download the file from your home computer, try going to your local public library and downloading it to a flash drive from there. Here's the direct link to the one I use (Jubi uses it too, unless he's started using another one): http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/pchat_portable I even use this for my IRC client. Not because I don't have permissions on my computer, but because I don't want all that space taken up by mIRC or whatever. Hope this was helpful |
Re: IRC Conectivity
Unfortunately I have no control over the IRC client itself. The IRC chatbox on the site is an ifame. For those less in the know, an iframe is basically a webpage within a webpage. The IRC client is not our creation, and isn't hosted on our server, so my hands are tied.
The webchat was never intended to be a replacement for IRC clients, just an easy way to get into the IRC for new users. I would highly suggest using Trillian or mIRC. |
Re: IRC Conectivity
gave up and downloaded a client.

Re: IRC Conectivity
It would if I could get away with it. Let's say the laptop gets checked...
Like, I'm restricted from doing anything. Even if it's not the full thing. I can't download anything. I can't install anything. I'm like really stuck and it annoys the heck outta me. I get yelled at by my brother for downloading a game. He gets nothing. He's downloaded two things for himself on here, while I have that one DFO game. This is really why I wish I had my own laptop. |

That's the beauty of having it on a flash drive. Maybe you're not understanding but the application leaves no trace at all on whatever computer it is used, so there's nothing on the computer. The install to the flash drive is not an install in the traditional sense, either. in short, I believe there's a way around this Kate, we just need to find one. #srs<3 |
Re: IRC Conectivity
Yeah, but that's pretty much all I can do.
*has no Flash Drive* |

Re: IRC Conectivity
Actually, I've been unable to access irc either for several days now, but thought it was just because I've been using the computer at work while waiting for dsl at my new apartment (Wednesday, come quickly!). I'll have to wait and see...
