Girl's Generation/SNSD
I figured it was about time to talk about Girl's Generation considering they're about to release their single Tell Me Your Wish (Genie) in Japan on September 8th. I can't wait to see what these girls will do considering, and it will be interesting to hear them sing in Japanese. They're so overly cute though, that it's hard not to love them. I'm vaguely worried that they might slow down in terms of music and convert quite a few stuff in Japan, but at the same time we'll see. They're still doing ads like crazy so they're practically everywhere as is. For example, I found this jean add they were doing recently. I loled hardcore~ :giggle: What's your favorite song? Do you have a favorite girl? I like Seo-Hyun personally~ She's one of the younger members at nineteen, and appeared on the show We Got Married a few times. Also, I just found out she's going to dub Edith in the Korean Despicable Me. That'll be adorable~ |

Re: Girl's Generation/SNSD

Re: Girl's Generation/SNSD
Apparently some teasers have been released onto the internet concerning the girls by Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Jessica for those interested.
"The audio teasers were posted on a Korean website that had no further information on what the teasers were exactly for. It can be assumed that they are for their live concert album." Haha, Aqua was my first album I owned at like nine. When I looked up a little info, I found that all of these had been preformed during their live concerts. So there are full snippets lying around, and it seems that a concert album makes the most sense. |
Re: Girl's Generation/SNSD
SNSD isn't one of my favorite K-POP girl groups. But my favorite song from them is Gee. Just because it's really catchy and gets stuck in my head at the most randomist times. I don't really have a favorite, but it's probably Jessica.

Re: Girl's Generation/SNSD
Girls Generation/Shojo Jidai music video of Visual Dreams, not new, but I just saw it and thought the commercial tie-in (at very end) was too good not to share.

Re: Girl's Generation/SNSD
take this for face value but I've heard they might be coming down to the US this summer. Was something I heard through a few reliable sources.

Re: Girl's Generation/SNSD
I haven't done a Girls' Generation update in forever. For those who don't know the girls were picked up by Interscope Records here in the United States (Lady Gaga is one of their many artists). Their English version of "The Boys" came out recently for those waiting for it.
This is a nice little English interview they did with All Access. The girls in the video from left to right are Tiffany, Sooyoung, and Jessica. Enjoy. :) |
Re: Girl's Generation/SNSD
They seem really excited.

Re: Girl's Generation/SNSD
loved the vid.

Re: Girl's Generation/SNSD
More news!
Also, the girls won Music Bank for the sixth time in a row for "The Boys". There was also another English interview off a radio station in New York. It's actually pretty adorable. :D |
Re: Girl's Generation/SNSD
Ah, I thought I was crazy when I saw Girl's Generation on MTV at my campus foodcourt TV with Will.i.am (guy from The Black Eye Peas). Seems like they are starting to spread their music over to the West.

Re: Girl's Generation/SNSD
As posted crazily about everywhere, Girls' Generation got recognition on The Fine Brother's show Kids React. I'm kind of surprised they showed Korean pop to the kids and showed My Little Pony to the teenagers, but meh. BUT THE BIG NEWS IS AS FOLLOWS Girls’ Generation will perform ‘The Boys’ on CBS ‘Late Show With David Letterman’ on January 31st (New York Time) and ABC ‘LIVE! with Kelly' on February 1st ---- Source All Girls' Generation fans should tune into these programs. Here in Las Vegas on standard Cox Cable both of these channels are channel 8. Live With Kelly happens at 9:00 AM PST while Late Show With David Letterman happens at 11:30 PM PST. Go to TV Guide for finding out when they occur in your area. If ratings are effected by the girl's in any way this will mean more appearances for them! :D |

Re: Girl's Generation/SNSD
Major update on the Girls' Generation side. The girls preformed at the beginning of the month on Tonight With David Letterman (it was his thirty year anniversary show with Bill Murray and Regis). The girls preformed a remix version of the song on that tiny, little stage. However, they still pulled it off. Enjoy.
The next morning they were already up like six hours later after traveling from Korea to appear on Live! With Kelly with Jennifer Lopez and Howie Mandel (SP?). Fast forward a week later the girls preformed in Paris on Le Grand Journal. I've incidentally seen the set for this show, which leads me to believe it's fairly popular. It's been running since 2004, so I would assume as much. Lastly, they did a thirty minute interview with French press with a Korean translator. You can tell the girls are exhausted going from Japan, Korea, US, and finally Paris while preforming at weird, funky times. I cannot imagine the jet lag these girls are facing, but they kept their spirits up and the interview is pretty interesting. Thoughts? My personal favorite was the Live! With Kelly. I preferred the performance from the Letterman show, but there was lolz to be had on the Kelly show. xD Also, can anyone post that picture of Bill Murray with the girls? I feel that needs to be shared. #hellno Also, loved that people were trying to do the Korean fanchant during the Live! With Kelly one. I finally found a translation to that. It's as follows: "Right now, it’s Girls’ Generation. From now on, it’s Girls’ Generation. Forever, it’s Girls’ Generation." |
Re: Girl's Generation/SNSD

Re: Girl's Generation/SNSD
I love Girl’s Generation band they are very talented because they can both sing and dance like super juniors. In their album my favourite song is “The Boys” and visual of this song is awesome.

Re: Girl's Generation/SNSD
Girls' Generation recently came out with their new Japanese single Love & Girls. I've linked the video above for those of you curious. Culturally the song makes sense since Japan is super big on "summer" type of songs. Personally, it's not my favorite Girls' Generation song. It took a few listens for me to get into it. The video is also somewhat disappointing. I mean it's neat to see them dance with drag queens, but it's such a colorful video it's really hard to point out the girls. Thoughts? |
Re: Girl's Generation/SNSD
I can always depend on J-Pop/K-Pop to have more colorful M/Vs than American ones
|
Re: Girl's Generation/SNSD
Girls' Generation did their first flash mob in Japan this summer. Sadly, it was raining, but somehow didn't stop them and 4,000 fans from preforming. Elmo was totally upstaged by Cookie Monster.
I didn't think this song would be so popular, but I think it's the whole every artist in Japan needs a summer song. Their summer's are so hot, why would you celebrate that? xD |
Re: Girl's Generation/SNSD
Catchy song. I don't know any of them managed to avoid slipping at some point. That stage looked like it was very slick XD

Re: Girl's Generation/SNSD
Girls' Generation is ending their promotions with Mr. Mr., but I gotta say I loved the lives so much. They're probably one of my favorite live performances in the past few years. |
