It was either Teknoman (english version of Tekkaman Blade) or Sailor Moon, though at the time I didn't even know what anime was.

My first ever anime series was Saint Seiya. I still can't get over how awesome it was to be feel the power of my cosmos increased as i sat down as a 8 year old kid. That serie is the reason im an anime fan now

Silverhawks was sorta my first big obsession with anime, if we're counting stuff like that and Thundercats. After that, though, my first "pure" anime that I ever saw was Sailor Moon. Not gonna lie, Sailor Mars is smexy. =d

My first anime was probably Pokemon as well. However the first anime that I watched that I knew it was an anime was Cardcaptor Sakura. I thought Pokemon was just like every other cartoon on at the time however Cardcaptors was different. I watched that like it was a religion lol and it got me into other animes like Slayers and Trigun and then it turned into the snowball effect and hasn't stopped.

I was like 5 years old one Saturday morning waiting for Magic School Bus on Fox when instead they showed the first episode of the Tree of Life arc of Sailor Moon.

Probably Pokemon, when I was 8ish. First time knowing what anime was it was either Vandread or Midori no Hibi.

Mine was also Pokemon, I think I was like 5 or 6 at the time. Whats really funny is for the longest time I thought Digimon and Pokemon was the same show until my cousin pointed it out for me. :biggrin:

I was transported to a far awayyyy laaandddd, a world where monsters rule, MONSTERS RULE.

My first anime ever without realizing it was Monster Rancher, tied with Pokemon since they were pretty much around at the same time for me. Then came along Digimon, which was clearly the best of the three in my opinion, I wasn't much of a Pokemon fan.

The first anime that i ever saw was Tenchi Muyo when my cousin showed it to me when she was babysitting one day. I thank her in my heart everyday that she introduced me to anime. If not i would be lame and watch nothing but sports, what kind of life would that be, lol. After that i think it was probably Pokemon. The time has flown by since then. And every day i value the anime that i have seen and whats new to come.

Ah Tenchi Muyo! I remember watching back on cartoon network when they still ran Tsunami.

First for me was Robotech followed by Gundam Wing then DBZ and Sailor Moon which aired after. After that was pokemon.

Well... the first anime ive known of was Pokemon but the first one i watched and love would have to be InuYasha My best friend who lived near me showed me it. He moved recently and we keep in touch. I miss him so :,(

Pokemon, Sailor Moon, of course. I missed the Gundam Wing bandwagon, and Outlaw Star et al went under my radar for far too long.

I have to say the anime that got me into anime really was Magic Knight Rayearth. That was around the time that I began to realize my fandom and that there were MORE like it. Then I bought all of Ruroni Kenshin on VIDEO TAPE as it came out....

Transformers. Didn't even know at the time what anime was.

The first sub I watched was Evangelion. Never knew a "cartoon" made for TV could have such quality. Not just the animation, but the whole ambiance, the music, everything. It was like watching a good book.

My first was Totoro. Mom was so scared to show me something that wasn't sparkly disney, but she obviously started me down a path of no return. If there is anyone to blame for my nerd status, it is my own mother.

unofrtunately i can't remember the name of one of the first ones...
i know that there was a kid that went to another world that used to be on a skateboard and on his team there was a small one that used to roll up into a ball which was always with him, then there was another yellow eyeball thing hopping on one leg and a giant i think made out of rock. it was awesome but i can't just remember the name...
other than that dragon ball, digimon, pokemon, yu-gi-oh, sailor moon, card captor sakura and the others that were on tv at the time.

when i started watching anime on the pc it was shakugan no shana followed by full metal alchemist :P still crazy about those two

That's such a good one..way to go mom. Hard to go wrong with a Miyazaki film.

My first one I'd count was seeing Ghost in the Shell movie that inspired me to find a series to watch which ended up being Cowboy Bebop.

Robotech's original US airing in 1985. Yeah, I'm old.

krozar brings up a good point. Transformers, though written in the US, was animated in Japan. That began airing in the US in 1984, so that may have technically been my first.

It's hard to remember back that far, I'm thinking the first may have been Sailor Moon, like a lot of you, or Dragonball. Not sure. >< Those are at least the ones I can remember watching at a young age, though I may have seen another and not realized it was anime. Lol.

Now I am really curious, I wish I could go back in time just to find out exactly. :tongue:

Sailor moon and then Outlaw Star. I think it was Outlaw Star. I remember a wooden sword and a cat woman. I was 6 at the time. Also Sailor Moon was my first and I was enamored with it.

It's all sort of a blur, but it comes down to Speed Racer, Battle of the Planets, and Robotech. I think I was something like 5 or 6 at the time.

My first ever anime was Samurai pizza cats (I wonder if anyone can remember that). I was like four when I watched it and all I can remember was the awful starting that it had >_<.

My first anime was really old adv shows like Blue Seed, Shadow Skill, NGE, and all then all the anime cartoon network basically played in the 90's.
