Unfortunately I have no control over the IRC client itself. The IRC chatbox on the site is an ifame. For those less in the know, an iframe is basically a webpage within a webpage. The IRC client is not our creation, and isn't hosted on our server, so my hands are tied.

The webchat was never intended to be a replacement for IRC clients, just an easy way to get into the IRC for new users. I would highly suggest using Trillian or mIRC.
