As for the order, it gives no significant advantage to you if you change the order of your Pokemon between battles because you don't know which order your opponent will play them in, it's all a matter of preference really.

I just thought we might be able to change our order, because it CAN give advantages. It matters little what the other Pokemon is, but, y'know...helping hand, etc.
