91.8 the Fan Dictionary

A little something I came up with out of boredom.
I'm starting by putting together the obvious words and when the moment arises, you can submit to have a new word put into the dictionary, given you must have one OTHER member vouch/vote for that new word to also be placed in the dictionary.

PS: Don't tell Kana, she'll look at me with this face #kanarage

Dictionary:

Brie - 91.8 the fan Mascot
Fanatics - Someone who has purchased a subscription to support the website, and has exclusive access to behind the scenes content and other super special awesome secret stuff.
Forum - The part of the Website where you can submit discussion, forum games, talk gibberish or spoil anime and/or games
Heavy Player - The icecast player that broadcasts at 160 kb/s.
Internet Relay Chat (IRC) - The Local, quick second discussion area of the website. It requires user name to enter.
Kusari-busy: is when you work 2 full-time jobs and never have time for anything at all
Lite Player - The shoutcast player that broadcasts at 128 kb/s.
Minori-queue: is the number of Minori songs allowed in a given time period, which must be used by the best Minori songs
Moderator - Protector of the Forums
n00bs - People who are new to the site and are unfamiliar with the rules/layout and asks the obvious questions.
Staff - DJs/Content providers
Wolfs - Dangerous things
Zero - Someone who is perverse by nature, shameless and socially frowned upon, despite the situation.
Zombies - Beloved murderous beings who nom on your brains

I'll add more once my brain gets into thinking mode.

But here are my suggestions to add to the dictionary:

Lolilaine - The young sound of provoking caused by an older female targeting a male audience, unintentional or not.

Lite Player - The shoutcast player that broadcasts at 128 kb/s.
Heavy Player - The icecast player that broadcasts at 160 kb/s.

Quote:

Q: What’s the difference between “heavy” and “lite”?
A: Our heavy stream broadcasts at 160kbs while our lite streams at 128kbs. Heavy also runs on Icecast while lite runs on Shoutcast. In our experience, the lite player has more of a delay of up to about thirty seconds depending. Though which stream is best for you is more dependent on how well your internet speed preforms. --- Souce

"n00bs"? What about those of us who have been around forever, know the layout, but still have no clue what's going on and are forced to ask obvious questions? (Or did I just create my own category? And--so help me--it better not be called "geriatric"!!!)

Dictionary is lacking Wolfs. Needs more Wolfs.

One should not underestimate Wolfs, Wolfs can be dangerous.

I vouch for Wolfs.

Also, I think it is important to clarify to people that David Freakin' Hayter is David Hayter; and that those people are NOT either David Hayter, or David Freakin' Hayter.

I think I would sometimes fall into this category... maybe something less connotative... like "geezers" #wut

#feellikesir I also offer these definitions:

1. Jubi: One who is Queen of the Insects.
2. Hermit: One who contributes most to the community by means of the Forums and is rarely seen in the IRC.

I believe you are thinking of MOTHRA, QUEEN OF THE INSECTS! She needs one as well though.

"Geezer"--yeah, I guess I can live with that. And I'll definitely claim "Hermit"! Kinda like the hermit thing, actually. . .

Updated, remember you have to state you vouch for the definition to have it put it

Jubilee 09-28-2011 02:46 PM

Re: 91.8 the Fan Dictionary

I think there are plenty of insects who would vouch for MOTHRA being the QUEEN OF THE INSECTS!, hence why it is capitalized. But hey, if you don't believe her, she is one of those insects who sucks her prey's innards out through a tube. :awesome:

Also, sasnak.I'll give you the definition once science is able to discover what it actually is.

Okay, well, just in case my defining it didn't necessarily mean a vouch, I vouch for "Hermit" and "Geezer".

Kanashimi - The Matriarch and fuhrer, thou shall obey her commands lest her hammer of banning-justice rain down upon thy head with the fierceness of a thousand wolfs.

BanHammer - Wielded with justice, this weapon of mass ban-struction debilitates all those who tread upon the dangerous grounds of violations.

Christmas List - When Christmas decides he is interested enough in something to look up its wikipedia page and read aloud lists contained within.

Multiple Kanatation - When Kanashimi appears in the IRC it elicits the response of her name being typed no less than 10 times in 45 seconds.

Anime Bites - An example brought up to excuse one's own lack of doing work that should be done. See also "The YuleBlog"

DS' Hair - It's shipped with everyone.

A Wild [...] Has Appeared - A Pokemon reference used to exclaim the obvious arrival of a user in the IRC.

Kibs - An enigma wrapped in a mystery, to this day nobody knows what it is he does, but whatever it is, it's vital to the website. Or maybe not. Who knows?

Addendum to IRC; It is not a dating service.
