X Japan Signs With EMI Music North America

Quote:

The rock band X Japan has signed a three-year contract with EMI Music North America, with the first single release scheduled for March 15. The single, titled "Jade," is going to be the band's first single in North America.

Band leader Yoshiki said that they are also planning for an album in summer, and a tour before the end of the year. Yoshiki will also launch a monthly one-hour radio program called Yoshiki Radio on the American satellite network Sirius XM Radio.

The band made its American debut last year with a performance at the rock festival Lollapalooza and other venues. X Japan has created music for anime works such as the X² music video collection and the X film.
Can anyone say more Yoshiki flubs!! Haha I will listen to hear him softspoken and when he makes a mistake hear him enjoy himself cursing. Im glad a new cd is finally coming out and more tour dates in America lets see more Japanese bands out here now!

This was a long time coming. I haven't heard any of their stuff they've done since the loss of hide, so I'm a tad sceptical about how they'll sound now. Time will tell I guess.

I'm actually more concerned with the influence of the company on the quality of their music. If US record labels know how to do anything, it's how to ruin someone's sound/career...

Couldn't agree with you guys more . I am concerned about this fact, however they are sounding a par below without hide, and what foolish aspects the American company will do to this japanese monumental band.

Good point. I figure they'll be told to make a relatively safe album. Which'll probably contain traces of what they were before, but rather mainstream. If the album does well, they'll probably stick with the mainstream formula. Seems to be how it goes, but it's all just speculation at this point.

well they were on the saw 4 soundtrack:

I think its a pretty good video, I was at the bottom of the building when they filmed it in Hollywood with a huge crowd of people, they even show Hide's guitar as tribute.

I'm actually looking forward to it

yoshiki got some attention with nbc los angeles:
