It grinds my gears when i hear fangirls squealing about Twilight. Honestly, it's just a movie, and the book was mediocre. Luckly i had a Eragon book close by to burn it out. :P

What grinds my gears is trying to find those darn pieces of the triforce in Legend of Zelda Wind Waker and having to pay that darn TINGLE for translation on the maps.

Agreed.

You know what really grinds my gears? My government trying to implement a nation-wide, compulsory internet filter to protect the children of lazy parents who don't teach their kids about the internet before letting them log on.

Stephen Conroy. He's an idiot. The chances of government actually imposing this on Australia is slim to none.

TOPIC REVIVIAL!

You know what really grinds my gears, is when a console/system gets bashed because it isn't backwards compatible.
For example, the PS3 keeps getting bashed by people I know because "it doesnt play Ps2 games" WELL DURKA DURRRR, It's a PS3... if you wanna play PS2 PLAY A PS2!
- glares at Cameron and his lack of GBA on a 3DS issue -

In all fairness, the original PS3s are completely backwards compatible... all the way to PS1. I don't like that Sony TOOK OUT the backwards compatibility on the newer models in order to keep the price point competitive with Microsoft's product.

Also, You know what grinds my gears?
When people treat and think about a person based solely on that person's age.

the fact that the rich people in the US the millionaires aren't donating any of their funds to help pay off the national debt. Well that and by the time 2037 rolls around, the US won't have any Social Security program anymore. (and they're still taking it out of our paychecks)

You know what grinds my gears... what really just grinds my gears... *can't contain myself*

When people tell me they speak Japanese, but speak "Chin Chong Ching" call it Japanese, Chinese, any Asian language really. That really grinds my gears since I know Japanese. I just end up calling it Rosie O'Donald Syndrome because she is supposed to be some sort of star and got away for doing that. It's disrespectful I tell you.

*spoiler maybe*

People who people think Lelouch is alive (even though it completely ruins the moral weight of the ending) and point to edited versions of the last scene as proof. Also, in extension, people who call "Shikkoku no Renya" and "Boukoku no Agito" R3 despite the fact that one is a prequel and the other is a side story.

You want to know what else grinds my gears?

Showing up to the oral surgeon's office at 12:30 for a 1:00 appointment only to find that the entire office is out to lunch. Then everyone who works there finally showing up at 1:00 and slowly getting to work. The world is becoming lazy and unappreciative of promptness. */me puts on old curmudgeon hat*

What really grinds my gears?

When your in a Open Server RP game and along comes either a Troll, newbie (who knows nothing), Ruiners, a person who automaticly assumes he/she is more well known/ a better player than everyone else.

I play on the text RPs where you have to proove yourself to join... (I.E. That little Zork Game I made up, which actually has gotten me a little noticed by some of the higher ups)... So playing an Open Server is a pretty good way to make new friends and enemys. Any of the above mentioned is allways a risk, but it doesn't happen that often...

In my last game, The group had to deal with a new person who needed to be shown the ropes... Normally there is a tutorial given out to the new peeps by a member of staff or a helpful higher rank... But he/she had apparently decided to skip it and head right in to the Open games... Fortunatly we were only playing a simple 'Find the Relic' quest which can be over in something like five turns, if your lucky... The DM for that game wanted five players alltogether and when the newbie joined, he started the game instantly without thinking about it...
In the end it took about 300 turns to find simple things like Glasses of True sight or Cup of Elven Water. I luckly found the Relic (a Titan's Helmet) in the claws of a Black Wyvern, which killed the newbie on the third attack. (he/she raged out, caplocking 'insults' about our characters)...

So yea... Thats what grinds my gears...

In a similar vein, you wanna know what grinds my gears?
