Hours earlier today, Studio Ghibli co-founder Isao Takahata died in a Tokyo hospital. He was a giant in the world of anime, and will leave a staggering void. This is an especially painful blow to those Ghibli fans who were inspired by Hayao Miyazaki's recent return from retirement. (Miyazaki, of course, being the other co-founder of Studio Ghibli.) Thank you, sir, for the beauty which you shared with us. You will be missed.
