This week's ANNCast is a little special: our guest is none other than Carl Macek (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=3952), who needs little introduction. We go through the man's entire career, from his earliest days promoting genre films, to the creation and success of Robotech (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=71), to the Streamline days in the 1980s, all the way through his recent history at ADV Films (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/company.php?id=2). It's a really long interview, clocking in at just under 2 and a half hours, but it's worth it, we promise!

Obviously we won't be making shows this long a habit, but if you're interested at all in the history of anime in America, then this is probably worth a listen. We start out the show with a pretty brief first segment about Durarara!! (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=10947) and the new Space Adventure Cobra (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=612), but it's over pretty quick as we just wanted to get to the interview. Enjoy!
