Gundam the Origin is a manga depicting the fully fleshed out story intended for Gundam 0079, with some added bits and pieces. The books are available now (and are well worth a read).

An OVA series about Gundam the Origin is going to be released with the first OVA "Blue-Eyed Casval" being released for February 28th with long periods in between OVAs (basically, just like "Gundam Unicorn"). So expect a once a year OVA.

This is why Bandai of American failed, in my opinion, they went by the Japanese market pricing, which doesn't work in American economy, it's too rich
