View Full Version : How to access 91.8 The Fan on PSP

So after learning that the PSP has an internet radio function. I spent the past day and a half trying to get The Fan on it.
The problem with the PSP radio players, is that they are randomly selected stations with no way to pick and choose. What you need to do is go to http://pspradio.co.uk/, and download a new radio player that will let pick and choose which station you want.
Very simple steps, just enter the link into your PSP web browser, and download everything it tells you. After, you should see a new radio player in your list of radio players, called KK's PSP radio. Once on the new radio player, on the main page, you should see an option that says Make/Play/Save/Edit Station Presets. In that, enter our new m3u file, http://198.100.144.46:8000/live.m3u
Thanks for the help.

You might want to perform a system update anyway, that latest is 6.20, which is what I have, and I didn't have a problem.
Also, If you don't want to keep searching every time you start the new radio player, there's a preset option. All you have to do is enter the following address into the prompted bar: radio.918thefan.com:8000/listen.pls
Don't delete the http://, enter the address in after it

There is even easier way of listening to shoutcast stations on PSP:

Alrite, because the stream is now all new and different, there is a different process which you can do to make everything work. Using the pspradio program above ^
Go to the my music tab.
Now, if you have already got something added there, you'll have to click edit. Else, I think it immediately goes to the 'add new thingy' page.
Now, in the category, type whatever you want there. In the station info, type whatever you want there, but 918thefan or something similar is advised.
The important bit is in the stream section, it initially has 'http://' in it. In that field, type in http://radio.918thefan.com:8000/live
To get the colon : and the slash / you'll have to click the 'caps' button on the keyboard thing.
Now save everything, and everything should work.

This is pretty cool :) I love my psp but after awhile i became bored with it. I think I may just get it back out and add this! I never even knew this radio existed until I saw an add on Dragon Ball Z Abridges website!
:) This is very enjoyable! IS there any draw backs to listening on your psp?

Honestly? This is a bit confusing XD Especially to a person like me who's never messed with many of the PSP functions, besides playing games. I was able to download the ShoutCast player, and listen to the Fan on that, but I can't save the station or anything... ^_^;; Sorry to be such a bother, but I only got this PSP this year, I'm not that great with it yet XD

I actually use the m3u because I'm a fan of windows media player.
#shock I know, but it does everything I want with no bloated system hogging (ahem ITUNES!!!)

I know I'm quite a bit late to this party, but how many files is it supposed to download? When I go to the link (on my PSP of course :D) I download 2 files very quickly, then it tells me to go to the radio, and the new icon doesn't show up :(

There should have been a third file that takes a little longer. Try it again and let me know if it works

PlayStation Vita still doesn't allow these types of files to be played. We'll keep you updated if this changes.
