Title explains it.

I'm taking a break from visual novels on PC and am looking to get back into some MMORPG's after a long hiatus (finally got around to fixing my main gaming rig!)

The only game I have on it is Guild Wars 2 (which I may or may not get back into)

Suggestions can be current or future games (I'm keeping an eye on The Repopulation, Age of Wushu, and Pathfinder)

Prefer something sci-fi based that is not Star Wars (seems slim pickings for sci-fi based mmo's from what I've researched so far)

Also non-web browser based is a must!

Don't care if it's F2P or not.

Here's a list of some MMORPG's that I played recently and gave up on for a variety of reasons (I may try some of them out again with my new build...we'll see)

Star Wars: The Old Republic (loved the story driven companions, but graphics bugs killed it for me. May go check on it again, supposedly many of the issues have been addressed)
The Secret World (really had fun playing this game until, again, tech issues killed it for me.)
DC Universe Online
Lord of the Rings Online
Rift (I've been debating on going back to play it again)
Aion

And no, I don't want to play WoW! LOL Been there, done that, bored of the same thing after playing since vanilla. Pandas and pet fights do not appeal to me in the least! XD

Worse thing that can happen is I just wait out future releases and go back to my PS3 and Vita for awhile! (~_~)

Well I'm not into that many MMORPG the only ones I play used to play it was WoW but I got tired after cataclism, and Final Fantasy online which was good but had many issues of gameplay mechanics.

The only one that I'm waiting for is the return of FF online a realm reborn

Kingdom of Loathing

It's just like World Warcraft... if it was drawn by XKCD and written by Monty Python!

Why not Tera? Eternal ditched me and now I have no one to play with. I even started a new character so I'm pretty low level.

I tried Tera as well, just couldn't get into it at all. :(

Sad to hear, I really liked it a lot honestly. While it's not a sale for other people it's actually nice looking unlike a lot other MMOs.

@Kana Eh, if it's F2P, I may give Tera another go. I'll let you know :)

@Grim I looked at Path of Exile and thought of D3...though I love the concept of trade and barter rather than coin/cash based system. Age of Wushu looks really cool.

I'm banking on The Repopulation as it has a pretty immersive crafting system that apparently hasn't been seen since the insanity of SWG (in which crafting was so much fun to do imo).

I broke down and went back to SWTOR for a month sub. Many of the glitches I had problems with seem to have been fixed. Maybe I'll actually get a character to level cap finally XD

FFXi is actually pretty fun, I play the Xbox version because I cannot stand playing games on a PC.
If you want to give it a shot let me know, we can party up. IF I need to recommend something however. Prepare for aggravating installations, signing up for services and and aggravating controls (which are horribly simple once you get used to them).
Get the Ultimate Collector's edition, it comes with 30 free days and a head piece and body piece, and it's only $40
