So my English teacher had a lesson on graphic novels, and how people are transforming literature into a graphic novel. Then at the end of lesson he assigned a 10 page graphic novel on any of the stories we've previously done in class. You can do it with stick figures, photoshop, or by hand. So I decided hey lets do it by hand, why not?

Bad Choice! He assigned this on a Friday and it due Monday, so I have ten pages of this V and I'm rushing through it. It's a little sloppy, but I like it so much I decided I'm going to completely remake of it. I'll take my time and make it really special.

So anyways heres the first two pages ,and my character design, for my first graphic novel of "A Dream of Armageddon" (My scanner sucks- cutting one my pictures and turned my black ink to this grayish looking color)

I like it. The sloppiness actually adds to the appeal to me.

Wow, I actually like your style....its a lot different than what you usually see, in a good way.

WOAH-HO-HO!!! That looks awesome. I can kinda tell what's going on from the setting from the first two pages.

When you said Sloppy, I was thinking of stick men that are made in Pre-Kindergarden. The art looks like one of those comic books from way back when. I can say that you adopted a style to work on. I am kinda jealous on how you can draw that well apart from what I draw...

I love it! good atmosphere and as long as you kept the style consistent throughout it makes it seem as if that's what you wanted to do.

btw, as I was reading I thought Verka was part of the story... then I realised, oh, wait, this is Deadly's sig... I felt so smart facepalm

That's a pretty awesome HW assignment. Although, that is a pretty tight deadline if you're going to flesh it out like that. I think what I would've done is a stick figure first draft, use that to organize the layout of everything, and then work casually on a fleshed-out version, that way you have a draft that you could turn in, while being able to have fun at the same time.

Thank you everyone, and maybe Verka might make a special appearance in it :giggle:
3rd page text is a little hard to read and do, especially the white text. ("and in a moment I was surprised to find him speaking") Next time I'll use a photoshop and clean that up a bit. Oh and you can tell your in a manga mind set when you start reading this from right to left, and just get confused has $%#@.
