Might as well put something up for everyone who hasn't watch this yet and plans to. Read at your own risk.

Okay, so after watching this I decided I wanted to write/type up a review about the episodes for this series. You know.. Okay, it wasn't after this. I wanted to make up some type of review, in my own way, about an anime I watched. I know I'll be sticking to this till the end. I'm a fan of detective series. However, I haven't seen a detective series in a good while. Will Gosick bring back my detective spirit back up, or will it just smash it with a pipe and a magnifying glass?

I now present...

GOSICK EPISODE 1 EDITION!

So, we start off with a common red moon, red cloud atmosphere. Something dark/evil has to be happening, yes? We then see a dog with red eyes and a hare (rabbit). There's over ten of these rabbits running and the dog jumps them. First, let me say THOSE POOR BUNNIES! Next, we see some old woman talking about a young man will surely die with some cloaked people (I'm guessing men?) next to her.
http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/Gosick/Gosick1.png

She's creepy, right? She keeps talking and tells the people to send eleven hares out in the wild. Next thing you see, ALL THE HARES ARE DEAD. The doggy/wolf/whatever it was killed every one of them. Those poor things!

Skipping ahead, we begin at the St. Marquerite Academy. Now enters our main character of Gosick, Kazuya Kujo.
http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/Gosick/Gosick2.png

Students in the school also call him (correct me if I'm wrong) "The Dark *or Black* Reaper". During class, the teacher comes in, Miss Cecile, and tells Kazuya to read more ghost stories. Yes, the reaper thing is all behind a ghost story. Though, it's "The Springtime Reaper". Our protagonist goes to the library of the school to learn about these ghost stories, one being the Queen Berry.

http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/Gosick/Gosick3.png

Oh. This library doesn't look that-

http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/Gosick/Gosick4.png

OH MY! Nevermind mind about that.

Anyway, the Queen Berry is a ghost ship, something about an alchemist named Leviathan, and a talking wolf. He then finds a golden piece of hair. He looks up and some type of gold light is all the way at the top of this library. Now, I would be curious but I wouldn't climb all the way up there. Do you know how far up this is?? FAR UP. But curious as our character is, he begins to run up the library's many sets of stairs.

Probably several minutes later, he makes it up. Yes, he ran towards the light and made it. The dark scene of the library is now colorful with many plants around. Guess who enters now? Our heroine!

http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/Gosick/Gosick5.png

Meet Victorique. She tells our character his future. She says how he'll be back at noon tomorrow. A few more sentences later, he freaks out and runs down the stairs saying, "a doll read my future." Okay, I'm surprised he didn't trip and still has the energy to run. Well, I guess it's really easier to go down than up stairs.

We find out the girl is actually a classmate of Kazuya, which explains the one empty seat in the classroom. The teacher gives him handouts for her and leaves again. The noon bell rings. Where does he go? Do you guys know? If you didn't say the library, add -10 points to your score. Our main character makes it up the forever stairs again and we see Victorique rolling around. She was bored while waiting for him.

Suddenly, the elevator rolls up to the top floor, or the current floor. There's a man in the elevator, but who could this be? Now entering, Grevil!

http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/Gosick/Gosick6.png

He probably has the weirdest hair I've ever seen. Seriously. It's pointy! Anyway, he's actually an inspector. Apparently, there was a murder. The person murdered? That creepy old woman right in the beginning of this episode. Wow. One minute scene and you're kicked out of the series for good. Nice way to leave. Her name was Roxanne and she was a fortune-teller.

The inspector begins to tell the story with a maid, manservant, and Roxanne's daughter. The door seems to be locked to the teller's room. The maid comes in and shoots the keyhole with a convenient pistol at hand. They entered and to shock, she is dead.

http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/Gosick/Gosick7.png

Ouch. It's like a scene from Detective Conan only this time there's no little kid solving the crimes. Now, Victorique begins to do something. She started to reconstruct the chaos fragments from the scene. Then, using some power she has called "The Fountain of Wisdom" inside her, she reconstructed the truth. If I had a power like that, guessing if a person is lying would be so much easier to know. I could win in a game that involves lying! She figures out who the murder is. Can you?

Guessing done. It was the maid in the hallway with a pistol! We find out how this happened and the inspector leaves. Next day, he's in the paper. Kazuya goes straight to the police office and confronts him. Since the other police officers don't know truly how Grevil solved it, he takes our hero to his office. He invites him and Victorique to the yacht he got this weekend. We also find out our heroine can't leave where she is without permission from the inspector. Now, I wonder why.

Skipping ahead to the yacht:

http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/Gosick/Gosick8.png

Wow.. What an oufit. The inspector gets a message from one of the officers that the maid escaped. He leaves the two of them alone to go catch her. Victorique goes inside the yacht and searches a drawer. She finds a letter. Inside it is an invitation to this big ship. Our two characters talk, skipping to a scene where they're about to enter the ship, and the episode ends.

-----------

My overall thought of this episode:

Hooray! I actually found a new detective anime! I actually liked it. At first, I didn't have it on my list to watch. However, I watched a trailer and was interested. I'm glad I did. I like where it's going right now and the preview makes me want to watch more. However, this episode is a little slow and could easily bore people. Maybe a little too fast for some? Like, quickly skippy. I mean, did they catch the maid? Why a sudden skip ahead at the end? It's just the first episode, though!

I really do love the opening and ending themes to Gosick. Now I want to listen to the full versions of these songs. See what you did, Gosick??

http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/FavoriteBanner-1.png

And now, my favorite character of the episode!

http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/Gosick/Kazuya1.jpg

Yeah. I gotta give it to Kazuya today. You know why? He's a survivor! A SURVIVOR OF FOREVER STAIR MADNESS! Just going up those stairs about three times in this episode... Wow. I told you, my curiosity would be high but I wouldn't go up those stairs. There's just way too many of them. I think it would take me several hours.

With that, Kazuya, you get my Colette thumbs-up! http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/Colette29.gif

Episode Rating: :awesome: :awesome: :awesome: :awesome: :awesome: :awesome: :awesome:

Well, that's it for this. Stay tuned to the next episode's post, which is likely next week!

Oh this is the new anime people are talking about, people are saying good things about Victorique for being a gothic lolita or something

~ might give it a shot

I like Victorique as well. It's her personality that's great, especially in some scenes.

Just watched it. Victorique has an epic pipe. Kinda befitting considering...

I can understand why Kazuya is rather standoff-ish and Grevil's hair makes me want to punch him in the face.

There's a lot more to case than what appeared to be; lets see how deep this rabbit hole goes.

"Kate's Epicly Fail Review Thing." Who needs content with a title like that?! (Love the review, though.)

I love my title. Suits me just right. xD

I didn't like Victorique, shes too cliché for me... predictable. And Grevil was too over the top, didn't fit the whole 1920's scenery and ruined the mood. I have hopes for Kazuya though, he seem kind of plain and ordinary but he has potential to surprise us ^^

Anyway nice review! Keep up the good work!

I agree, Snapple. I see Kazuya being bigger than he is sooner or later. Maybe switch roles with Victorique? I'll put this on my prediction list.

I just realized that "Gosick" is supposed to be "Gothic" o.O (as in the title, not the style of it, which is also pretty Gothic)

Though maybe everyone's already realized this and I'm just slow . . .

GOSICK EPISODE 2 EDITION!

Welcome back, my friends! Now, where did we leave of? Ah, yes! We start at a dinner session going on in the creepy ship our main characters boarded. You know, with the obviously not suspicious invitation in the yacht. Kazuya is forced to watch people eat as the invitation only services one person. Had he not took away some stuff Victorique packed (snacks), he wouldn't be in this situation. However, she's nice enough to stuff his mouth with a roll.

http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/Gosick/Gosick21.png

Skipping awesome opening, everyone in the dinning room seems to be asleep. How very odd. That's not strange at all. We then see a dream sequence from our hero. He's a chibified (younger) version of himself now and someone's telling him to get up. Like yelling. That's not very nice. Anyway, he wakes up and we're now in a new room. Apparently, everyone who ate the food was drugged and brought into this room. Now, I wonder how long they were drugged for. Victorique then points out there are twelve people in this room while there was eleven in the dining room. OH NOES! AN EXTRA PERSON! Could the suspect be in this very same room??

http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/Gosick/Gosick22.png

Kazuya explores the room a little and finds a model boat. This boat is the Queen Berry. Hmm.. Now where have I heard that from? OH YEAH! The first episode! The ghost ship, oooooooooohh! Oh yeah, our heroine has a weird laugh. Cute, but weird. Suddenly, a black out! Oh no! Is someone gonna go missing??? No. The lights go back on and everyone is still there. Well... Other than some blood writing on the walls. People freak out.

So, one guy really freaks out. He runs, trips, and runs again to the doors that are suppose to be locked. He opens them. BOOM! A dart arrow shoots him in the head, dead center.

http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/Gosick/Gosick23.png

HEADSHOT! One down, eleven to go. Well.. I should say nine. We know our heroes can't just die on the second episode, right? Now that the trap was sprung, people run out of the room and outside. Some of the guests begin jumping on a lifeboat...IN THE MIDDLE OF A STORM LIKE OCEAN. Now really. Common sense? I see being scared and all, but you're just gonna-

http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/Gosick/Gosick24.png

Too late. I counted six people on that boat. So, looks like we're down to our final five. One of these three people are our killer or something. Our heroine looks emotionless as ever and Kazuya keeps suspecting of her being a doll. Yeah, I see what you mean, dude. Seven people just died. Like, right in front of you.

We jump ahead to some strangers who we have no clue who they are. Someone died, back to our characters. They appear to be back in the starting room where they were all dragged to, though, this time the room looks like it's been abandoned for a long time. Also, the body is missing.

http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/Gosick/Gosick25.png

Old mustache guy freaks out about GHOSTS and trips over a chair. Everyone seems to be tripping a lot in this episode. They need a caution sign somewhere around these rooms. We learn of the character's names, who cares. I get to call them whatever I want! Also, it seems like mustache man saved Kazuya from an earlier trap. You know, touching the model boat. And, guess what?? *dramatic pause* OUR CHARACTERS ARE ON THE GHOST SHIP!

http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/Gosick/Gosick26.png

Victorique does that laugh again. She starts to go all detective and spots stuff like the wine, paint, etc. She figures out that the room their in isn't the actual room, but a replica. How? She orders Kaz to open some other door in the hallway. Suddenly, a room far down bursts open with water. OH NOES! ABANDON SHIP!

Kaz's life is saved again. Remember kids, during murder scenes like this one, NEVER EVER USE ELEVATORS. This was a helpful message brought to you by nobody. Anyway, Kazuya saves Victorique from a trap button, they find the stairs, they find a room with about knee high water, green haired lady goes across water first, CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT!, and so on.

http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/Gosick/Gosick27.png

Old mustache guy freaks out again, old man finds a gun, he goes all crazy about the hares, and points the gun at the peoples (more at our heroine). Kazuya stands in front of her, like a shield. Old man goes crazy once more and we hear a gun shot. Guess what? END OF EPISODE! CLIFFHANGER!

My overall thought of this episode:

I got some type of Detective Conan flashback. Is that bad? I will say, though, Victorique is getting a little... yeah. That Fountain of Wisdom thing (if she did that) or whatever makes her seem a little overpowered and kills the viewers who like to look for clues as well. I mean, how can one tell by the wine if you just saw it? I kinda like her, but I have my limits with her as of now.

The episode did feel like something of a detective genre should be. People dying, a mystery behind the scene, backstory, and so on. I'm happy we did see some character development as well.

http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/FavoriteBanner-1.png

And now, my favorite character of the episode! He wins it again for me.

http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/Gosick/Kazuya2.png

His selfless act earned it for me. He got Victorique out of the way from a trap, he carried her across the water, and is shielding her at the end. That earns points in my book!

So what should I give him? Another thumbs-up, that's what! http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/Thumbsup.jpg

GOSICK EPISODE 3 EDITION!

Different than the usual start, we begin with the amazing opening. We then finally see what happened with our cliffhanger. Remember the ending gun fire? Well, it seems the older female shot the crazy old man. People apparently find guns hidden in this place. Go figure.

http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/Gosick/Gosick31.png

We are down to our final four, people! They throw the guns away down a set of stairs and move on. I would of kept it and gave a reason like, "Just in case the killer comes." The blonde haired pretty boy goes up the stairs and the girl stops to look at our main characters as they talk small bit about Kazu. Suddenly, screaming.

http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/Gosick/Gosick32.png

Pretty boy is dead! Now, I think I've seen this position somewhere before. Ah, yes! Like one of those children from the flashback! And, Vicky is scared! See, this is why you don't throw away a perfectly good weapon. Stuff like this happens.

They find an empty room and begin searching for any type of weapon. Kazuya finds some brass knuckles, they hear footsteps, and they hide.

http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/Gosick/Gosick33.png

OH MY BRIE! HE HAS AN AXE! And, guess who it is? It's our blonde pretty boy! He sees Victorique's dress and begins the attack. Then... FALCON PUNCH! Our hero punches the guy in the face with the knuckles. Another jab to the face and they run.

http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/Gosick/Gosick34.png

We find out how he faked his death and... HERE'S NED! He grabs the woman's hair and throws her to the ground. Kazu gets Vicky into the Radio Room and leaves her in there. D'aaawww, that's cute! You're protecting a girl you just met a few days ago! What a champ! Our hero gets punched in the face several times by the crazy pretty boy. What's with the face?? He comes back with a counter-attack and our first fight begins!

http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/Gosick/Gosick35.png

It looks like all hope seems lost till the lady comes in and stabs the guy with the same axe he had. K.O! Meanwhile, our heroine sends out the S.O.S message. Kazu enters, she's happy, and goes back to being herself just hiding it. We get a quick touching moment again.

Daylight finally appears. We see that they've been rescued and the ship sinks. Did I mention how beaten up Kazuya's face got?

http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/Gosick/Gosick36.png

They arrive at the docks and the inspector is waiting there. We have our culprit! It's the woman! How? Victorique explains it with detail, as always. She's the next Jimmy, I swear. The woman had the gun with her all along, not randomly found it and was one of those children we saw in the flashback. The flashback starts again.

http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/Gosick/Gosick37.png

It's a young pretty boy! We even see our dead fortune teller. We also get a little history lesson! AWESOME! Case solved! We see an appearance by the maid, and the woman and maid know each other! Wow, talk about revenge.

We return back to our wonderful school. Kazuya comes running up the stairs with a newspaper in hand. No surprise, the inspector took the credit yet again.

http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/Gosick/Gosick38.png

It seems Vicky and the inspector dude are brother and sister but from different mothers. We get some more back story and we get another cute scene before the ending credits.

http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/Gosick/Gosick39.png

My overall thought of this episode:

We had our first fight in this episode and some cute scenes with our two main characters. I really enjoyed this, overall, and it's currently my favorite. Gave me some more back story between our two characters and, to me, a great mystery. I can't really complain about anything in this one. The cliffhanger did a perfect snag and it didn't disappoint.

I do not have a favorite this time. However, both Kazuya and Victorique get my thumbs-up for this episode. http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m639/RandomKateReview/Thumbsup2.gif

Lesson learned: Don't treat people as hares.

I think the most surprising thing is Victorique's little bombshell. Looking forward to her competition next episode. #poplar
