Gosick – Episode 9 – Blue Roses Bloom In The Cannibal Department Store

Posted on Mar 24 2011

Since a new Gosick didn’t air the other week due to the crisis in Japan, I held off on the blog. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. Let’s jump right in!

———————————————————————————————–

What have we here? A mysterious talking manikin? Blond Girl seems to have adjusted well if she’s scaring Kujo with vampire stories. And now we have a story about a rare blue diamond. Neat. And now that we’ve had our intro sequence, let’s jump into Destin Histoire!

For those of you who don’t listen to the radio, we have Destin Histoire on here now. It’s been translated to Destined Fairy Tale, since Destine Histoire is French. Now you know. I actually type most random stuff during the song. Here we have a bored Victorique. Therefore, we have to put Kujo’s life at risk. OH SNAP! VICTORIQUE IN A KIMONO?! DO WANT! I’ll just leave this here.

Isn’t she just adorable? Why does she have a little house in a hedge maze? This is incredibly entertaining. This won’t end well, I can tell. Oh good, the annoying teacher has Velma syndrome. And Victorique has caught a cold. I don’t think we’ll be seeing too much of Victorique in this episode…

Have I mentioned that I love trains? Well that’s an awkward position. I know what’s getting screen-capped for this section, unless something can top Phallic-hair Man inside Kujo. Seems like P-h M is looking into black market stuff. Yes, that’s how I’m abbreviating that now. Yet all Kujo can think about is being together with Victorique. I miss her too.

Here we are in the capital. Nice place. This kid can tell people’s nationality by looking at them, it seems. I bet he’s important. Kinda cool too. What a nice doorman this is. Calling it now, the Blue Rose Kujo gets is the real one and not a replica paperweight.

Apparently the real one is up here, even though they said it was stolen in the opening. The what’s with this one? Now we’re in the basement. This isn’t a paperweight store at all. And in this box we have an actual person and not a manikin. Good thing I have spell check for that word. She’s freaking out about something.

Really? P-h M’s hair has a shine to it? What does he use to style with? Thomson’s Water Seal? Here we have P-h M’s boss. He wants him to crack the black market smuggling thing. And by him, I mean us. And now the doorman doesn’t remember us. And this dude’s playing dumb as well.

Where did all the pretty gems go? And now the girl is gone too. Looks like we’re getting a two-parter out of this one after all. Back with Victorique, she is bored. And hallucinating. Well even I knew it was from the terrible fever she obviously has. Time for a shot. This will be entertaining, if they show it. Please show it.

Back with P-h M and Kujo, Kujo is on his own. And now this crazy lady is attacking him. Here’s that kid again. Told you he’d be important. I like him. Oh, so they disguised the room that Kujo was in. We’ll have to get Victorique to solve this mystery. Darn you Kujo, you made her get a shot. And now you’ve been kidnapped. He really is hopeless.

Guess we’ll have to wait for next week to find out. Well done Gosick, I thought this was going to be a boring episode, but you’ve proved me wrong yet again. Now I want to actually do next week’s blog on time. Until then, we’ll just have to wait for episode ten: The Girl With a Cold Dreams of Her Stubborn Friend.

———————————————————————————————–

Question time! Now that you’ve seen more of Victorique, do you like her more or less now? It seems like the more her character develops, the more adorable she can be. Hey wait, I just realized there was no pipe in this episode. That’s the real question this week: WHERE DID IT GO?!

Reminder that you should always support the industry by watching Gosick and tons of other shows on Crunchyroll. Japan has enough issues without you pirating anime. And if you want to donate, make sure your money goes to actual places helping Japan, like the Red Cross.
